The Boats and Crew

Pictured left to right....Albatross III, Abatross II, and the original Albatross
The Albatross Fleet The three boats of the Albatross Fleet are unique (hover the mouse over each boat in the photo on the left for specifics).  They look different, they ride different, they are different.  Built specifically for fishing the waters off Hatteras, they are sturdy, have stood the test of time, are “sea kindly” and are equally at home in the shallows of Hatteras Inlet or Cape Point as well as the Gulf Stream.
The boats are manned by two man crews that consist of a Captain and a mate. The one thing that the Albatross Fleet offers that is hard to match is experience.  Captain Ernie of the Albatross III has fished every season out of Hatteras for the past 45 years.

Beginning in the early '80s Captain Bryan Mattingly worked for 8 seasons as a mate with the Albatross Fleet prior to getting his captain's license.  He run the Albatross II and is also a skilled chef who know how to cook as well as catch 'em.

Captain  Mike Scott specializes in our Nearshore trips.  In addition to fishing, he is a higly skilled boat builder and a world traveling surfer and sailor.
